The Moving Company utilises a broad range of packaging materials, designed for optimum protection, cushioning and strength during the moving process.

From Porta Robes - large cartons with a wardrobe like bar for your hanging clothes - to bike cartons, golf equipment cartons and Plasma/LCD TV factory carton equivalents- with polystyrene inserts formed to the size of your television. We even supply 'Priority" branded cartons for you to use to put those important or personal items in that you need to identify as soon as the delivery commences, or which can be instantly identified throughout the move.

Our unique tube wrapping method for delicate ornaments/china and crystal assures maximum protection of delicate items. Couches/Settees and dinning chairs are further protected with thick protective covers, along with mattress protectors covering all sizes of beds.

Our Art or Picture carton range offer an expandable size carton to accommodate most pictures/paintings or hanging artworks. For extra large artworks or guilt framed mirrors/paintings we supply custom made protective crates. All of our packaging is 100% recyclable.

We are often asked if you could pack yourselves- the short answer is Yes - You can pack yourself for moves within New Zealand, however most customers do leave it to us. It's no where near as costly as thought!
All packing takes place in your home and each package or carton is sequentially numbered with labels prior to loading (except for same day local moves), which provide tracking information such as our move reference number, your Name, destination and date of the move.

We Prepare a Comprehensive Inventory Listing for You

If your move destination is Overseas, to another city, or via storage whilst you find a home, or whilst you have the renovations completed The Moving Company prepares an inventory of all your possessions being moved, with each carton or package individually labelled and recorded in numerical order. Our labels record your name, origin, destination and internal move reference number. This offers piece of mind for you in tracking your packages.

Our inventory lists are prepared to Customs, Quarantine and insurance company standards, so if you have packed a few cartons, we will need to know exactly what is in them! We will also record any existing marks on your furniture to avoid any confusion on arrival of the goods at your final destination.

Valet Unpacking

On Delivery day you may have many other priorities and focuses, as opposed to unpacking and setting up your kitchen or linen cupboards, making the beds and organising the books back onto shelves, or the kids toys. We have the solution! The "finishing touch" service will transform your new home from the often chaotic feeling to an organised comfortable home, normally within just one day. This service ensures all cartons are completely unpacked and the contents orderly placed in cupboards, shelves or display units and the packing gear is then immediately removed. Customers who have used this service often request us to supply this service on an annual basis to reorganise there kitchens and cupboards!
