By joining forces, we’re taking a major step forward in recycling soft plastics and poly bubble, or bubble wrap, which are converted to products such as vine posts at vineyards, or fence posts contributing to a greener future for New Zealand.
With a mission to combat New Zealand’s plastic waste problem, Future Post founded by Jerome Wenzlick collects domestic and commercial waste plastic, transforming them into eco-friendly, durable fence posts and rails. These posts are not only a sustainable alternative to traditional materials but also serve as practical solutions for farmers, vineyards, and various other industries and if they break, they too can be recycled via the same process.
The Moving Company is New Zealand’s moving industry heritage brand, providing international and NZ wide moving and storage services. Here at The Moving Company, we continually seek innovative ways to do our part in reducing our environmental impact. To address the pressing issue of plastic waste, we’ve teamed up with Future Post to foster a circular economy.
The Moving Company have invested in a high-density baler which is stationed in our Auckland warehouse. The baler produces 300kg bales of soft plastics that we then provide to Future post. We are diverting upwards of 20 tonnes of soft plastics from the land fill and supporting the creation of Future Post’s innovative products.
In this partnership, The Moving Company will collect soft plastics from packing materials and day-to-day operations. These plastics will then be baled and delivered to Future Post’s recycling facilities, where they’ll be processed and transformed into high-quality fence posts..
Interesting Future Post Fact:
Each Future Post contains over 19 kilograms of plastics waste and comprises the equivalent of approximately 250 milk bottles and 1,100 plastic bread bags.
