The Opportunity:

Operating from awesome offices in Seaview, we are seeking a passionate, confident and ambitious person who enjoys sales and engaging with customers to join our Wellington team on a permanent, full-time basis.

You’ll be responsible for handling our phone and web sales enquiries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in sales or for those seeking to change their career path. The successful candidate will become part of a friendly, fun and experienced team and environment.

The Scope:

• Be the primary point of contact for our customers, through phone, email, or web communication channels, who are moving locally, within New Zealand or internationally.
• Provide guidance and prepare quotations for customers and convert them into booked sales, achieving weekly budgets across the different moving types and additional services.
• Monitor pending quotes and prepare strategies to close them.
• Manage the appointment schedule for Sales Consultants and some administrative support.
• Assist in the implementation of sales initiatives.
• Act as a liaison between the Sales and Operations departments to ensure top customer satisfaction through clear communications.

We’d Love You to Have:

• Proven experience in sales or exposure to the shipping/ transport sectors is preferred, but we are open to considering candidates who have a great outgoing personality with a ’go get em!’ attitude & desire to learn and win in sales.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Confident verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.
• Professional and outgoing attitude, both on the phone and in person.
• Quick adaptability to new computer systems.
• Be a team player and happy to work in an office environment

About the Role:

At The Moving Company, we’re seeking a Warehouse Day Shift Supervisor to join our dynamic Auckland operations team. In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with overseeing and coordinating the daily activities within our warehouse facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of customer goods, maintaining a safe and organised work environment, and facilitating seamless transitions in our storage processes.

Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the timely storage and transit of all containers, with direct supervision of loading and unloading operations.
• Coordinating with other branches to fulfil customer order requirements and delivery schedules.
• Optimising warehouse layout and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
• Maintaining the cleanliness, upkeep, and presentation standards of the warehouse and yard.
• Conducting weekly forklift checks and facilitating toolbox talks.
• Coordinating access and requirements for NZ Customs and MPI Biosecurity inspections.
• Ensuring that customer goods are not released until outstanding charges are settled.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• Possesses prior experience in warehousing.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet.
• Is proficient in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Has knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety procedures.
• Exhibits computer literacy skills and a willingness to learn new systems and procedures, including MPI requirements.
